Young Duke Skygrowler and his uncle scrape by dealing with the shifty desert scavengers known as the Cubwas, trading scraps and parts just to get through another cycle. But supplies are running thin, and what they really need is something rare—a droid fluent in Croquette, the language of trade, deals, and deception.
As fate would have it, opportunity rolls in on metal feet.
The Cubwas roll out an assortment of robots all in various condition. Enter C3-BO and R2-B2—two droids with more to them than meets the eye.
Purchased in a routine deal, they seem like just another transaction… until Duke is tasked with cleaning them up before dinner. What starts as simple maintenance quickly turns into something far greater, as hidden messages and long-buried secrets begin to surface.
Unbeknownst to Duke, this small moment in the desert is no accident.
It’s the beginning of a journey that will pull him far beyond the sands, into a conflict much bigger than he ever imagined.
